Krisse Pasternack
is a Miami-born and Miami-based artist whose work renders the fragility and resilience of South Florida environments. Her work spans textiles, sculpture, and image-making to create durable representations of transient moments.

At the boundary between the real and the fantastic, Krisse’s sustained artistic production draws on mythological and art historical references to give significance to found objects and Florida ecosystems. While her painted plywood Silent Sentinels abide and bear witness, Hybrids series portend an overturning of the separation between the human and more-than-human worlds.

Krisse holds a BFA from Florida International University. Her work has been shown regularly in solo exhibitions and juried shows from 1990 to the present day.
